Little Girls Step Stool

This was an unfinished wooden step stool...which is no fun, right? So I painted in a bright Tutti Frutti pink and an equally bright green. I have a book of thick scrapbook paper (almost like cardstock) and I scallop cut the edges and mod podged onto the top of the stool.

One bonus with using the thicker scrapbook paper is that there were NO wrinkles or bubbles. It just lays right on and I used a brayer just to roll over to be sure it adhered well. Then three more coats of mod podge (dry between coats) and a spray clear coat the following day. You can wet sand with #400 sand paper between coats of dry mod podge also to get a really smooth finish and then use #0000 steel wool on the last coat. Very smooth!

Added the butterflies last minute because they just happened to be the right colors..found them at my local Hobby Lobby. I love Hobby Lobby! Except I am usually there for about two hours.

Turned out pretty cute and only took a day to complete!
